ProFI Theatre
About us
The ProFI Theatre is an open theatre ensemble established at the Faculty of Informatics in 1998.
The group is currently staging its nineteenth play – time really does fly. Most of the fun takes place in the spring when we hold auditions, rehearse and perform, while in the autumn we focus on selecting plays so that we can once again hold auditions, rehearse, perform – and so on and so forth.
The ProFI Theatre is like a phoenix – it dies at the end of each year only to rise from the ashes next February, assemble a new ensemble and find new actors so that as many students as possible can get a shot at becoming a celebrity.
There is a lot of work left for those who do not appear on stage – like a proper theatrical ensemble, ProFI Theatre needs light, costume, set and sound designers and even PR specialists to help write promotional texts like this one.
We should mention that our group has never used any music other than our own. All successful players find their use in post-rehearsal guitar sessions where we boost the group’s team spirit.
To sum up, ProFI Theatre is open to any and all people. You need only enthusiasm and a yearning to try something new.
