About us

Security Outlines – Student Security Portal (formerly Sekuriťáci.cz) is a project originally launched by students of Security and Strategic Studies at the Faculty of Social Studies. The portal was founded in 2007 and officially exists under the auspices of the Centre for Security and Strategic Studies, a civic association which also publishes Rexter, a peer-reviewed journal on radicalism, extremism and terrorism. Thanks to this cooperation, the portal is actually issued with its own standardised serial publication number, ISSN 1802-6710. The main goal of the project is to make security issues more accessible to the public. Our activities focus on promoting expert debate on current security issues while also improving public awareness of these important topics, which often suffer from misinterpretation, especially (but not exclusively) in mainstream media. We are trying to fill a gap in Czech and Slovak specialised online periodicals focusing on security-related issues as we believe that this area, though topical and relevant, is not receiving sufficient attention. Our secondary goal is to provide students of security and strategic studies and related fields with an opportunity to publish their own papers. Last but not least, our goal is to promote the programme of Security and Strategic Studies.

What we are doing
