How can I extend the validity of my ISIC card?

Your ISIC card is always valid for 16 months – from the start of September until the end of December the following year. The card’s validity is indicated on the first page of the plastic or digital card in the format, e.g., 09/2025–12/2026.

You can extend the validity of your ISIC card solely online via digital revalidation. You can make an application at MU Shopping center, where you will also find the current price for extending your card validity. The validity of your digital card will automatically change in the Alive App after successful payment and registration in the database.

As of the academic year 2025/2026, you can also apply for a free revalidation sticker for your digitally revalidated ISIC card at the office for studies of your faculty, so it is also possible to prove validity by presenting the plastic card.

The revalidation stickers are not required and are intended especially for students who, for various reasons, cannot prove the validity of their ISIC card in the Alive App. Other students can continue to prove the validity of their cards via the mobile app and do not need to apply for a sticker.

In both cases, you can continue to use your plastic card within the university.

We recommend that you place your application for the extension before the start of each academic year. Orders can be placed as early as August 1, 2025.

From August 1, 2025, you can also apply for an optional revalidation sticker at the office for studies of your faculty. To obtain the sticker, you must have extended the validity of your ISIC card by digital revalidation for the academic year 2025/2026.

If you do not pay for your digital revalidation in time, your licence will remain valid until the end of the calendar year. After the expiry date has passed, your ISIC licence will become invalid. Your digital card will no longer be functional and you will not be able to use it with discount providers and other ISIC partners!
