Taxonomical Study of Chosen Samples from Maritime Antarctic Islands

The main objective of this project is to gather information about diatom species present on several islands of Maritime Antarctica, with fundamental questions: How many species are present on these islands? Are they already known for science? Will we have to describe new species? To answer these questions, we will conduct a thorough LM and SEM taxonomical revision. The data and samples collected during this research will be helpful in future ecological and biogeographical studies.
