The project goal is to clarify the function of performance in the context of well-being and work-life balance, both from an individual and organizational point of view. I will complete a systematic literature review focused on the relationship between WLB policies and organizational financial performance as part of this project. There are more than 20 studies on the impact of WLB policies on business performance. These studies produce conflicting results, and there is no consensus on whether the effect of WLB policies exists, under what circumstances it exists, and how strong it is. The benefit of such a study will be a summary of the results from previous studies on this topic and the presentation of recommendations for further research in this area.
Furthermore, within this project, I will use the data obtained in a diary study from my diploma thesis and prepare an article focused on the factors influencing individual work performance and send it to a academic journal. I conducted a diary study on a sample of 220 employees of Czech organizations who filled in a brief online questionnaire every morning and every evening for one week. The study provides evidence about long term relationship between work stress, well-being, work performance, and its' moderators (age, personality). Lastly, in this project, I will prepare an introduction and methods section for an experimental study, which will deal with the still unclear causality of the relationship between well-being and work performance.
