Promoting excellence in teaching laboratory classes of the bachelor’s degree programme Physics

The backbone of the programme is a series of basic physics courses combined with class exercises and laboratory classes. The aim of the latter is to prepare the students for creative and independent experimental work. This includes training in work-planning skills, methods of statistical data processing, critical analysis of results, preparation of scientific reports and presentation of results. The project is focused on further development of all study programme laboratory courses, particularly courses Physics Laboratory 1 – 4, Electronics Laboratory, Solid State Physics Laboratory, and Astronomical Exercises. Some of the laboratory experiments (‘’tasks”) are used within other study programmes of MU (including Optics and Optometry at the Faculty of Medicine) and of other universities (BUT Brno, UK Praha, PU Olomouc) and for the education of talented secondary school students.
