After finishing parental leave and returning to work, I would like to contribute to the development and strengthening of the terrestrial invertebrates work team. Through my participation in the research process and the acquisition of molecular and other data, I would like to make the work-flow of the entire working group more efficient. Involvement in teaching of Bc. and MSc. students will also be a significant contribution. I will continue my lectures Bi7770 , Bi6760, Bi0260 and Bi2140/4360. Also, I will be lecturing a new course Bi2005 Phylogeny of Animals which will start in Spring 2026/2027 and is intended for foreign students who wil be introduced to the phylogeny of animals (Metazoa) and the resulting taxonomic diversity. Given that the methodology in the molecular biology laboratory is a very organic and rapidly evolving subject, it is necessary to improve the skills already acquired. Therefore, in the long term view, I would like to improve my skills in molecular methods and use job-shadowing of some of my foreign colleagues who deal with selected techniques of genome research (NGS). I also plan to continue my cooperation on projects with both domestic and foreign colleagues not only in the field of systematics of Diptera. After returning from parental leave, I expect to re-join projects dealing with molecular phylogeny of selected representatives of arachnids and their prey (prof. S Pekár), biomonitoring and barcoding of populations of representatives of the family Enchytreidae (doc. Schlaghamerský) and molecular phylogeny of Cicadidae (dr. I. Malenovský). In case of inter-institutional cooperation, the research on taxonomy and phylogeny of the family Anthomyzidae (Dr. Roháček, SZM Opava) and research on phylogenetic relationships and barcoding in the superorder Bibionomorpha (doc. Ševčík, OU) will continue.
The parental leave contributed to the improvement of my both daily and work activities, mainly by optimizing the effective use of time, creating work schedules and meeting deadlines, using multitasking, the ability to find errors or deviations, solve problems creatively and effectively through assertive communication in the team. Along with my work commitment and positive approach even to complicate issues I could be an asset and reinforcement of the work-group.
