Popis | The article is a reflection on the reasons why there has been a change in the form of electing the Czech president from indirect election to direct election. The Author points out that the public prior to the introduction of direct presidential election was compared to indirect elections that were held in secret, with indirect election, that took place in public. Both of these ways of secret and public indirect election were associated with a number of doubts about any manipulations or political business. Several political parties promised the direct election, inter alia, as a solution to the low legitimacy of past presidential elections. The article points out that all three options: indirect balloting, indirect public option or direct election of the people have their great advantages and disadvantages. A change in the method of election of the President is about to lead to the legitimization of political processes in the country. |
