Popis | Environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM) was trialled to attempt to identify a new way of viewing parasites. Helminth parasites infections may cause important diseases in humans and animals, so they are targets of many studies. Conventional scanning electron microscopy (SEM) is used mainly in taxonomical research and sample description in parasitology. However, sometimes only small number or only one sample of rare parasite is available. There is possible using a non-invasive method like ESEM. This study introduces modified method of ESEM for observing representatives of the selected groups of helminth parasites (Nematoda and Acanthocephala). The most suitable treatment methods and optimal environmental condition for observing selected parasites were found. |
