Popis | Titanosilicate xerogels were prepared by nonhydrolytic sol-gel polycondensation reactions between titanium alkoxides Ti(OR)4 (R = iPr, tBu) and acetoxysilanes R4-nSi(OAc)n where n = 1-4 and R = Me, Ph. The ester elimination reactions led to Si-O-Ti networks and acetic acid esters as byproducts. Alumosilicate xerogels were prepared by polycondensation reactions between Al(NMe2)3 or Al(OiPr)3 and acetoxysilanes R4-nSi(OAc)n where n = 1-4 and R = Me, Ph. These elimination reactions proceeded with the formation of Si-O-Al networks and released dimethylacetamide or acetic acid ester and as byproducts, respectively. We investigated the surface modification of these porous xerogels by a variety of reagents to eliminate residual organic groups and to chemically modify their surface. The resulting xerogels and volatile by products were characterized by liquid and solid-state NMR, IR, GC-MS, surface area analysis, TGA, and XRD. |
