Popis | Czech educational system is characterized by segregation concerning students with disabilities, as well as by early selectiveness concerning all students. The political and legislative attempts to eliminate segregation and selectivity of educational system are in a sharp contrast with the opinion of general public as Czech people (mainly parents) see the current system as providing the best platform to the educational achievement of any child. The research focuses on attitudes of the Czech general public attitudes towards inclusive education, as negative attitudes may serve as a barrier of education for all children in mainstream school. The most distant attitudes were found regarding to the learners with intellectual disabilities, learners with physical disability are accepted the most. The lower level of acceptance expressed men and respondets with lower education and lower income. Our research proved the relation between attitudes towards inclusive education and knowledge and competencies in this field. |
