Popis | Host-guest complexation in pure water plays an important role in biological and industrial processes. Positively charged synthetic anion receptors are relatively less appealing due to their affinities toward specific anions than neutral anion receptors. Currently only a few potent neutral anion receptors functioning in water are known1. Herein we report an approach for the synthesis of a unique receptor bambusuril derivative 5 that shows strong associations toward several inorganic anions including iodide and perchlorate up to 107 M-1 in water at pH 7.12. NMR titration method was applied for the determination of binding constants of all twelve investigated anions; furthermore the associations of halides with bambusuril 5 were also examined by ITC. We also demonstrate that bambusuril 5 can be used for the qualitative and quantitative detection of anions at micromolar concentrations in aqueous media3 |
