Popis | This work focuses on study of communities of small mammals from the Dagmar cave. Osteological material was separated from the fossiliferous layers 2, 4 and 5 of the sector D and the layer 2 of the sector B. Outcome of this work is the determination of representatives of various groups on the basis of the morphology of m1 molars in the case of voles and determination on the basis of the morphology of a lower jaw in the case of other groups (Eulipotyphla, Chiroptera). Biostratigraphical inclusion and palaeoecology based on taxa evaluation showed that the layer 5 of the sector D was deposited with high probability in the III. or IV. Interglacial of the Cromerian complex on a biotope where forest environment and vegetaion predominated. The Dagmar cave micromammal community is an evidence of the warm period, with a relatively high species diversity, unambiguously arboreous environment and the representation of undoubtedly thermophilic taxa compared to glacial environments within the Middle Pleistocene. |
