Popis | The skeletal material and pottery from the site Hronovce-Vozokany were dated to the Middle Eneolithic Period, exactly to the late classical Baden culture (Baden III-IVa). Skeletal remains belonged to a female in the age of 35–45 years (adultus II – maturus I). The distal ends of both ulnae were deformed. The traumatic changes (e.g. the injury of distal radioulnar joint or Colles’ fracture), which led to a nutritional disorder of carpal joints and weakening of the bones, are considered. The degenerative-productive changes are present in the cervical vertebrae; arthritis is most pronounced on the body of the third and fourth cervical vertebra. The heavy occlusal tooth wear was found in all teeth, and may not only be related to the consumption of abrasive food, but in this case it is possible to consider the use of teeth as the work tool. The analysis of stable isotopes 13C and 15N (- 19.9, resp. +10.7) showed that a female had consumed terrestrial food typical for the temperate zone of Central Europe (cereals, vegetable food, meat from domestic and wild animals). |
