Popis | This chapter provides an overview of the development and transformation of security through theoretical lenses and an illustration of a case study of the Arctic region. The chapter opens with an elaboration on theoretical development of security concepts, comparing traditional and nontraditional theoretical approaches. Next, the Regional Security Complex Theory is discussed and the possibility of applying this concept to the Arctic region. The chapter then summarizes perceptions of Arctic security from a historical perspective, concluding with a current discussion of security in the Arctic, particularly in light of the exclusion of military security in the Arctic Council framework. |
