Popis | The contribution deals with the present state in the project on physically based computational modelling of the real ultrasonic field in the USCT (ultrasonic computed tomography) imaging system. The simulation is intended to be compared to real measured data and also to the approximations used so far in the image reconstruction methods. Finite element method discretising the volume of the USCT tank is used for solving the Helmholtz equation as a presently simplified model. A mathematical model, emerging from the transparent physical background, is presented, that incorporates inhomogeneous media modelling both the object tissues and surrounding fluid and also attenuation phenomena. Currently, the simulation enables obtaining detailed information on the influence of distribution of the physical parameters. Finally, presently manageable spatial extent of the analysis, which is limited by the available computing resources and by the used solving algorithms, is discussed; the corresponding hardware requirements and related practical limitations are mentioned. |
