Popis | The demon named Titivillus has appeared in collections of exempla all across Europe since the 13th century. In these exempla, he is described as a demon who records the inattentiveness and laziness of clergy during church services. Outside the context of exempla, he is found in the literary production of scholars at the University of Prague at the beginning of the 15th century, especially in the works of Jan Hus. The aim of this paper is to describe the occurrence of the term "Titivillus" and its meaning in the context of this period. |
