Citace
Popis After the Velvet revolution in 1989, various new religious movements flourished in Slovakia, including contemporary Paganism. However, folk culture revival, 90s wave of post-socialist nationalism and critique of fast transformation to capitalism shaped Slovak contemporary Paganism differently compared to British-American Wicca, Witchcraft or Celtic Paganism. All those locally specific „streams“ of inspiration also played their role in shaping the current state of the Slovak Pagan music scene and were heavily influenced in lyrics and music by Slovak contemporary Paganism. The conference paper will discuss the specific Slovak nature of the contemporary Slovak Pagan music scene on examples of various musicians (Žiarislav, Ramchat and Jaroslav Reborn Pagáč). The presentation will be concluded with a possible future comparative line of research in a broader Central-European context.
