Popis | The human and non-human are not defined by opposites, rather on the contrary. Solely focusing on the definitions of “human”, “humanity” and its purposes are complex questions I do not dare to start answering, for the purpose of this talk I approach the “human” as the critical posthuman subject (Braidotti 2013). I aim is to contextualize the overcoming of dualisms within the contemporary art discourse through the critical posthuman perspective, solely focusing on the approaches to the non-human within artistic interventions to the field of synthetic biology and synthetic ecologies, to create a comprehensible typology of interacting with the non-humans in this specific art segment. Bioart theory is of importance, therefore I intend to build upon this theoretical framework and expand it by applying the perspective of critical posthumanism. Used methods include critical discourse analysis, cognitive mapping and case studies. This talk introduces preliminary findings of research outlined above, analyzed case study will be presented: collective exhibition Biomedia (2021), and drafted typology will be introduced as well. |
