Popis | For several years now, the HBSC study has provided us with key insights to better understand the health behaviours of our young people. It explores a range of health-related topics such as sleep, mental well-being, nutritional behaviour and physical activity. School and social relationships, family and family background, and peer relationships are also important areas of investigation. The findings deepen the understanding of the mechanisms influencing differences and changes in health and risk behaviours among young people and are key to the development of effective health promotion and health-related behaviour and education programmes, and to the monitoring of their effectiveness, not only at national but also at international level. The findings are important for better understanding the needs of school children and adapting services and support systems to take account of these needs as far as possible in today's rapidly changing world. The study can help us understand the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the quality of mental and physical health. The pandemic and the associated epidemiological and hygiene measures to limit the spread of the virus have meant significant constraints in the daily lives of people of all ages - including children and adolescents. The standard educational process, social contact with peers, club activities and other leisure activities in and out of school have been severely disrupted, significantly affecting the survival of school-aged children. |
