| Popis | The issue of illegal drug production and drug trafficking represents one of the challenges for modern society, that is closely connected with sustainable development of mankind. In this point of view achieving sustainable development goals such as good health and well-being (3), sustainable cities and communities (11) and peace, justice and strong institutions (16) would be much more difficult if the question of drugs related crime would be neglected. The aim of this paper is to point out some issues connected with this type of criminality from the Czech Republic perspective and to provide some general recommendations on effective prevention and protection of individuals as well as communities from such type of illegal behavior. First, the cross-border context of illegal production of methamphetamine and its impacts on environment in both urban and rural areas will be discussed. Second, the problem of new synthetic drugs, their recognition as narcotics and psychotropic substances under relevant United Nations Conventions and thus searching for effective protection of both individuals and communities will be presented with focus on approach of Czech legislation and law enforcement authorities practice. Within this topic, the issue of non-restricted type of semisynthetic cannabinoid HHC will be discussed. |
