Popis | Physical activity reduces morbidity and mortality and improves cardiovascular risk factors management for patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). One systematic review with linear meta-analysis indicated a significant dose–response relationship between physical activity and mortality rate. The findings revealed that each 10 metabolic equivalent task hours increase in physical activity per week was associated with a 12% lower mortality rate in CHD patients (hazard ratio: 0.88; 95% confidence interval: 0.83, 0.93; I2: 86.5%). The term physical activity covers a broad array of behaviours that share a physical component but are otherwise quite disparate, ranging from highly codified activities such as structured exercise, dance classes, to less formal physical activities such as walking, housework, and manual labor. Despite the various options, physical inactivity remains prevalent and one barrier to participation in physical activity is a lack of enjoyment. |
