| Popis | After the comprehensive presentation of the results of the WHO/UNEP studies on human milk in this compendium, this short chapter looks at upcoming needs, challenges, and opportunities. It briefly discusses the candidate chemicals to be reviewed for listing, related challenges for chemical analyses and aligns them with the progress in new techniques and technologies. Further, a need for harmonization of the survey design has also been apparent in recent years, at least at the EU level, in particular in support of the next generation risk assessment and enhanced protection of human health. This fact also represents a new opportunity on how to further develop existing human milk studies to provide necessary management responses. |
