Popis Perhaps everyone who is involved in legal philosophy knows the name of Ronald Dworkin. One of the concepts associated with his name is the chain novel, which is linked to another Dworkinian concept, namely law as integrity. This concept may seem quite plausible at first glance, but when one thinks about it more closely, one may realise that it is not very useful or applicable to practice, as it does not say much. In this paper, we will argue that to make the concept clearer and usable in practice, Dworkin's chain of novels needs to be complemented by an inferentialist view (R. B. Brandom) that emphasizes mutual recognition.
