Popis | Despite to several modern biomaterials with antimicrobial capacity implemented to wound healing, burn wound infection remains still the most frequent complications within the therapy of these patients. Effectively managing infection not only in the burn wounds is crucial for the successful treatment of patients with burn injuries. Contemporary clinical approaches focused on prompted antibiotic treatment, are facing growing challenges with the increasing resistance exhibited by numerous pathogens. Infections resulting from multi-drug resistant pathogens are recognized to be linked with markedly higher mortality rates compared to those caused by sensitive strains. This underscores the potential of antimicrobial peptides to emerge as future alternative therapeutic modules, offering innovative solutions in the face of limitations encountered by well-established methods. |
