| Popis | We read with great interest the recent article by Han et al. published in ICCN (1), in which the authors address critical aspects of hypoxia as a major factor contributing to pressure injury occurrence (PIO). Their results demonstrate a dose–response relationship between decreasing arterial partial pressure of oxygen (PaO2) and a progressive increase in PIO incidence. We commend Han et al. for their clinically relevant study and agree hypoxia is an important issue among other pressure injury risk factors such as suboptimal hemodynamics, damaged mucosal membrane, poor perfusion and tissue oxygenation related factors in ICU patients despite the availability of different care bundles; however, we wish to highlight two points for further consideration. |
