Popis | The paper describes one of the most important collections of the West Slovak Museum in Trnava, the Parrák Collection, and its story. The founder of the collection was the collector Štefan Cyril Parrák, a baker and pastry cook who devoted most of his life to collecting ceramics, glass, porcelain and folk art. He thus created an extensive collection originating mainly from the region of western Slovakia (Záhorie) and gradually began to exhibit it to the general public – the customers – in the premises of his patisserie. One part of his original collection eventually found its way to the present-day West Slovak Museum in Trnava, where it became part of the permanent exhibition. |
