Popis | The objectives were to identify cytoskeleton and to use cytoskeletal inhibitors to arrest proliferation and induce pathogens death. C. neoformans had actin and microtubules. A. pullulans had multinuclear hyphae. Cytoplasmic microtubules disappeared before spindle formation and synchronous mitoses. Actin cables were absent, but rings and patches occurred. The polymorphy may reflect deficient actin cytoskeleton. Cytochalasin D had no effect on actin structures and proliferation of pathogens. Methylbenzimidazol-2-yl carbamate disintegrated microtubules, blocked mitoses and proliferation. As none of the drugs caused irreversible inhibition of proliferation, further cytoskeletal inhibitors will be investigated.
