Popis | Concentrations of natural radioactive elements were measured in the rocks using gamma-ray spectrometry. The monitored parts of the Na Pomezí Caves are characterized by low contents of potassium, uranium and thorium both in calcite marbles of the Branná Group (K 0 to 1.2 wt%; U 0.5 to 5.5 ppm; Th 0 to 3.9 ppm), and in sinters (K 0 to 1.1 wt%; U 0.5 to 3.3 ppm; Th 0 to 7.7 ppm, and in siliciclastic sediments (cave soils, K 0.4 to 2.0 wt%; U 0.9 to 4.2 ppm; Th 1.6 to 13.3 ppm). Concentrations of K, U and Th were converted to the mass activity of 226Ra equivalent (am) in order to present the gamma-ray activity of the locality in question. Average values am for marbles, sinters and siliciclastic sediments are only 45, 36 and 94 Bq.kg-1, respectively. |
