| Popis | The paper focuses on the occurrence of ticks in floodplain forest of lower reaches rivers Dyje and Morava and characterizes the diseases they transmit. In introduction authors briefly explain biology of ticks. Next chapter refers to composition of tick fauna, description of habitats, possible reservoir hosts and enumeration of typical localities and tick prevalence. Authors concentrate on three tick species dominant in the area (I. ricinus, D. reticulatus and Haemaphysalis concinna), particularly from the parasitological and epidemiological points of view. I. ricinus is the competent vector of Lyme borreliosis, human babesiosis and anaplasmosis in local conditions. D. reticulatus transmits tularemia and H. concinna is potential vector of tularemia. The final part is devoted to the prevention of tick-borne diseases. The publication is supplemented with colour photos of ticks and characteristic habitats. |
