Popis | Introduction Congenital fetal brain tumors are very rare. Prenatal manifestation is uncommon with high mortality rate. Etiology - enviromental, genetic impact, infection in pregnancy, fetal anomalies, gender, multiple pregnancy. Neonatal manifestation includes variety of symptoms. Focal symptoms are unspecific. The most frequently diagnosed tumors are teratomas, neuroectodermal astrocytomas, Primitive Neuroectodermal Tumors (PNET), chorioid plexus papillomas (carcinomas). In case of brain mass finding it is necessary to perform detailed examination (ultrasound - 3D, 2D, MRI) followed by multidisciplinary specialist counseling. Evaluation of newborn outcome and future prognosis is essential for the best treatment option with respect to parents wish. In our case, choice of vaginal delivery was preferred. |
