Popis | Laser ablation (LA) can be used as a local-sampling method for inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). This connection allows multielemental mapping with high lateral resolution. Utilization of LA-ICP-MS for lateral elemental mapping of corroded layers is reported in this work. Molten fluoride salts (LiF-NaF) are examined as a cooling media for molten salt and high temperature reactors, nowadays. Molten fluoride salts represent a considerably invasive and corrosive media for the material of piping and other circuit parts. Structural materials of heat exchangers may be attacked at temperatures of about 700 C and the melt-alloy interaction provokes microstructure and composition changes of contact surface. Resulting corroded layers was studied by means of LA-ICP-MS. Laser spot size of 12 mikrons was used for lateral mapping. For quantification purposes was used a sum normalization calibration procedure. |
