Popis | Organization of dinoflagellate chromozomes is quite exceptional among eukaryotes; they have extremely large genomes and lack histones. In this context, study of structural and functional properties of dinoglagellate chromosomes is of high interest. Active telomerase synthesizing plant-type telomeric repeats was found in two Dinoflagellata species, which demonstrates general importance of these structures through eukaryotes, even in organisms with specifically organized genomes. |
