Popis | An inventory of bryophytes was made in 23 naturally treeless block fields in 4 river valleys of S-W Moravia (Czech Republic). Environmental variables (potential direct irradiation, area, position on the slope, stone size and degree of stone sorting) were recorded. Block fields were divided into 2 zones: a central, open part and an ecotone between the block field and adjacent woodland. The total number of species was 88. Bryophyte cover was lower in the open part than in the ecotone. Variability of species data, as revealed by detrended correspondence analysis, was associated with position on slopes, potential direct irradiation and position in the gradient between open part and ecotone. The most frequent life strategies were colonists and perennials. Among the growth-forms, rough mats and short turfs were the most frequent. The most frequent phytogeographical affinities of the recorded species were temperate, boreal and sub-boreal. |
