Assistant or Assistant Professor

at the Department of International and European Law

full-time (preferred) or 2 x 0.5 part-time positions

specializing in European Union Law

The Department of International and European Law is a part of the Faculty of Law, MU, responsible for teaching and research in private international law, public international law, and European Union law as transnational legal disciplines, all in relation to Czech national law, legal theory, and in comparative contexts.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching seminars/exercises in European Union law and introductory courses in international and European law, and engaging in teaching similar subjects in undergraduate and other study programs.
  • Preparing related study and teaching materials.
  • Conducting research leading to academic publications.
  • Participating in related administrative tasks.

Requirements:

  • Completed Master’s degree in law from a law faculty.
  • Ph.D. degree (for the position of Senior Assistant), or at least commencement of doctoral studies (for the position of Assistant).
  • Interest in the field of European Union law in the context of international law and in relation to national law.
  • Pedagogical aptitude; practical teaching experience (for the position of Senior Assistant).
  • Capability for independent scientific-research work.
  • Ability to teach and publish in Czech and gradually also in English; additional language skills (especially German and French) are an advantage.
  • Publication activity in the field.
  • Moral integrity.
