The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Masaryk University announces a selection procedure for two job positions of
Assistant Professor for the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology
This Institute focuses on human and its interaction with drugs. The research activities of the department are focused on preclinical testing of new biologically active substances, especially in relation to cancer, endocrine and metabolic disorders. The research projects are mainly focused on biological evaluation of new materials, potential haemostatic agents and medical devices for wound care. The focus of translational research is mainly on animal models of stroke and methods of ischemic cardioprotection. In the clinical field, the department focuses on the efficacy of pharmacotherapy and the incidence of adverse effects of treatment.
The Department is one of the six Faculties of Pharmacy of Masaryk University (MU) institutes and a significant regional employer. The primary mission of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Masaryk University is to provide university education, conduct research in the field of pharmacy and related disciplines, and fulfil the faculty's social role as an academic institution. The faculty cooperates closely with domestic and foreign research institutes and pharmaceutical industrial enterprises and is a proud holder of the HR Excellence in Research Award,
a European quality certificate for HR processes.
What will be your job responsibilities:
- Participate in the education of students in the pre-gradual programmes of the Faculty of Pharmacy
- Collaborating in the provision of research, development, and innovation by initiating and leading research, development or innovation programmes or projects
- Active participation in domestic and international scientific conferences, presentation of research results in the form of professional publications and participation at conferences and other professional meetings in the country and abroad
- Publication activities for educational purposes
- Participation in research, development and innovation for the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology
What we require from you?
- Completed university degree in pharmacy
- Completed doctoral studies in the field in pharmacy and related areas
- Ability to do independent teaching and scientific work, including publication activity
- Active attitude, initiative, and willingness to continue professional growth
- Ability to actively participate in international conferences and professional seminars
- Excellent knowledge of the Czech language, both written and spoken
- Active knowledge of the English language
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Civic and moral integrity, responsibility
- Preparation of lifelong learning courses

Contract for one year with the possibility of extension.
Full-time or part-time work.

Suitable candidates will be invited to a personal interview. The University's selection procedure rules are in the Regulations on Competitive Selection Procedures at MU.
In justified cases, the announcer may extend, suspend, or cancel the selection process.
