Assistant Professor

We are looking for a colleague to join the Department of Educational Sciences for the position of assistant professor with a focus on quantitative research. An excellent publication record, experience in a basic research project and an international internship are important for us.

MAIN JOB CONTENT

Teaching

  • Participating in lectures and other forms of teaching in Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs, including courses such as Sociology of Education, Educational Policy, and Methodology of Quantitative Research.
  • Contributing to teaching in Bachelor’s, Master’s, and lifelong learning programs.
  • Supervising, advising, or serving as an opponent for Bachelor’s and Master’s theses.
  • Acting as a supervisor or consultant for doctoral programs in exceptional cases.
  • Assisting in the organizational support of teaching activities.
  • Engaging in publishing activities, particularly for educational purposes.

 

Research

Participation in research, development, and innovation activities, particularly:

  • conducting independent research on complex research and development tasks and publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals, scientific monographs, or peer-reviewed proceedings,
  • actively participating in domestic and international scientific conferences and professional meetings to present research results,
  • contributing to the organizational support of research activities.

Other

Participation in operational and administrative activities related to the academic position, as directed by the department head, including:

  • performing routine administrative tasks related to course management, utilizing e-learning, and communicating with students via the MU Information System,
  • organizing and facilitating foreign internships for students and academic staff.

  • Ph.D. – Doctoral Degree Programme in Education
  • professional focus on quantitative research
  • publishing articles in Web of Science (WoS) journals
  • participating in blue-sky research projects
  • collaborating with leading international experts to publish scientific findings

Language skills

  • knowledge of English language at C1/C2 level
  • excellent knowledge of the Czech language in both written and spoken form

Requirements related to job content

  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and actively engage them in learning
  • Capacity for independent publication
  • Advanced proficiency in statistical data analysis software
  • Skill in clearly formulating and presenting research findings
  • Ability to present research results to both an international professional community and a broad audience
