MU is operating following the university traffic-light system. The university currently has a “WHITE LIGHT” rating, determined by the MU Crisis Board. University faculties, institutes, and offices may declare a higher alert level than the university-wide level or introduce stricter rules than elsewhere at the university. Follow the websites of individual faculties and the colour-coded signs hanging on the exteriors of MU buildings.
The Masaryk University budget for 2024 amounting to CZK 11.8 billion was approved by the MU Academic Senate at its 278th session on Monday. Compared to the previous year, the budget has increased by CZK 1.8 billion.
At the beginning of May, Masaryk University announced a competition for international students for the best photo from their studies in Brno for the first time. The competition motto is “Only in Brno”, and students can send in their entries up to Sunday, 26 May.
Even 20 years after joining, Czechs are more sceptical of the EU than other nations. But according to political scientist Petr Kaniok, Czech euroscepticism has never really come close to a desire to leave the EU. On the contrary, EU membership has cultivated the Czechs in many ways.
Last week Masaryk University welcomed a rare delegation of almost forty academic and non-academic staff from ten Ukrainian universities who came to Brno to receive training in hybrid teaching.
