SUMMER SCHOOL DESCRIPTION
Dr. Sylvia Schachner, a PTSTA-E (Provisional Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst – in Education) lecturer, will lead the five-day summer school course of Educational Transactional Analysis.
Transaction analysis helps people understand how their personality works in different situations, and why things happen to them in life. A basic understanding of transactional analysis enables one to understand his or her communication style as well as the communication style of others giving them the ability to consciously choose reactions. TA helps people make changes in their behavior and experience, such as resolving conflicts, achieving goals, or having better awareness of the content and form of our communication.
The main goal of TA is to develop the autonomy of people in their life.
This course will introduce students to effective tools for communicating in a school where interactions take place amongst student/pupils, teachers (transactions), and other participants of the institution. That communicating and interacting in school environments is not a one-way transmission of information but a process with complex interactions, which the course will help the course participants navigate. It was compiled on the basis of a complex theory of communication and personality - transactional analysis.
This course will offer the use TA as a planning, teaching and learning processes.
The course will link theoretical concepts with experiential hands-on activities that will provide students with practical skills of how to use TA in daily interactions in a school or another learning environment.
The lecturer has extensive experience in education and can provide the course participants with practical advice on how to educate.
Upon the completion of this course, participants will know and be able to:
• Choose learning methods,
• Being aware of the influence of the learning biography.
• Create a creative atmosphere,
• Apply new unusual methods
o Compile a lesson on the basis of a contract,
o Find a resource oriented attitude and permission wheel of personality,
o Work with a unique personality script,
• Lead group work and obtain feedback from students,
• Work effectively in teams by understanding different roles
• Manage a conflict in a group if it occurs during a lesson,
• Use the concept of the “3-ego system” formulated by E. Berne that influences interaction/transaction in the school environment.

The participants agree with an audio-visual record of the theoretical parts of contribution, for the purposes of further education.
