Government tightens restrictions, 9 p.m. curfew goes into effect Wednesday
The Czech government has once again tightened restrictions to combat the spread of the coronavirus. Effective 28 October a curfew will be in place from 9 p.m until 5 a.m. There are exceptions for people travelling to work or seeking urgent medical care. In addition, shops must close at 8 p.m. and may not open at all on Sundays. Marketplaces will also be closed with the exception of farmers’ markets. This week the government will debate extending the state of emergency until 3 December. A majority of the Parliament of the Czech Republic must approve the extension.
