Syntactic analysis of natural language

The proposed project essentially deals with the research in the area of natural language syntactic analysis emphasizing the enhancement of knowledge about the ways in which general methods can be applied to the analysis in free constituent order language s, especially in Czech. The aim of the project is to propose and implement a parser for Czech sentences based on maximally declarative system of grammar rules. Alongside the declarativeness, the efficiency of the parsing is the main goal. The proposed pr oject also addresses the issue of enriching parsing with verb valency information. Last but not least, a benchmark environment for parser results checking will be designed and implemented.
