The proposed project is focused on research into interactions of materials with molten fluoride salts in the secondary circuit of a spent nuclear fuel transmutor. According to published data (for example US project Generation IV) either the choice of afl uoride salt for the usage as a heat carrier in the transmutor secondary circuit neither consequently the corresponding choice of the secondary circuit structural materials have been performed yet. Melting and boiling salt temperatures, thermal andtranspo rt properties as well as interactions of structural materials with fluoride salt melts in the temperature range of the melting temperature up to appr.550°C belong among the most important criteria of the final decission on the secondary circuitsalt choic e. The aim of the project is to study experimentally and theoretically these interactions of candidate secondary circuit structural materials with candidate fluoride salts.
