The use of coercive and punitive measures short of force bears significant, yet understudied impact on the external and internal perception of the sender and the communication of its norms, especially in relation to individuals as targets. The project investigates targeted sanctions imposed by the EU - their design and implementation through the prism of social psychology and norm conveyance.
