Wider Objective
To promote and develop access for students with disabilities in Universities in Sri Lanka.
Specific objectives
- To create community awareness.
- To develop competency of staff of the partner universities in Sri Lanka.
- To establish conducive learning environment for students with disabilities.
- To restructure curriculum to accommodate requirements of SWD.
- To make policy recommendations.
Activities
- Performing a Baseline Survey on Need Assessment
- Conduct Awareness programmes for stakeholders of the partner universities in Sri Lanka.
- Participation of Sri Lankan partners in “ training of trainers” programs at EU Partner Universities.
- Sharing knowledge and experience among staff of EU partner Universities and partner universities in Sri Lanka.
- Conduct capacity building programs for staff within partner universities in Sri Lanka.
- Establishing a model centre for students with disabilities with equipment, assistive technology and other required facilities.
- Develop support services for students with disabilities.
- Conduct Awareness/Training programmes and capacity building for staff of the partner universities in Sri Lanka.
- Sharing knowledge and experience among staff of EU partner Universities and partner universities in Sri Lanka.
- Making policy recommendations to be implemented in universities in Sri Lanka (or in region).
