Motor regulation and its therapeutical influencing

This project is aimed at the study of cortical and sub-cortical systems for the movement control. Patients suffering from disturbances of motor control will be tested and compared with the healthy ones. The above mentioned project follows up with the rea search being currently in progress and published already partially in the impact international periodic. Information from the cerebral structures taking part in motor control obtained by means of the depth electrodes implanted during the epilepsy surgery will be also used. Motor disturbances will be analyzed by means of the sophisticated electrophysiological methods that have been already avaible. Phenomena accompanying movement preparation and performance, pharmacological effects on motor disturbances, the effects of movement on the early components of the somatosensory evoked potentials and affecting of abnormalities observed during the neurophysiological investigations of dystonia by treatment will be also studied.
