| Description | In 2010, two new sections were documented and analysed during engineering and construction works at Pavlov. At Pavlov II, a complex geological section was analysed, including upper loess, redeposited paleosol sediments of probably OIS7 age in center, and earlier sediments affected by frost deformations at the base. This section predates the Upper Paleolithic occupation (lithic artefacts occur on surface at this part of the side). At a new site Pavlov-Podhradní, a horizon of poor pollen spectrum and with glacial fauna was recorded within clayish deposits. The paleontological context of this new site corresponds to the other Upper Paleolithic (Gravettian) sites in this area. |
