Description The article presents comparison study of researches focused at visual impairment awareness and attitudes of upper secondary school students. The researches were done through questionnaire surveys in chosen Czech towns. The level of awareness of professionals and nonprofessionals may have an essential impact on quality of life of people with impairments. The respondents of the questionnaire surveys were mostly students of upper secondary and tertiary schools of health studies, who will be more frequently meeting people with impairments at their future work. Factors influencing the level of students awareness and readiness to accept people with visual impairments are analyzed. At the conclusion we provide an overview of particular visual impairment awareness training activities and organizations.
