| Description | The authors summarise the known facts regarding the disease known as lichen sclerosus et atrophicus. The focus is primarily on the symptoms of the disease in the genital area in female patients and both subjective as well as objective symptoms are being considered. Therapeutic options are being discussed and the need for regular monitoring of the aforementioned patients is emphasised due to the risk of development of vulvar neoplasia. The following part of the article discusses the efficacy of treatment of a group of patients at the Dermatology/Venereology Clinic of Faculty Hospital Brno, using data obtained during the year 2011. The information thus acquired is compared with available literature. The goal of this study is to improve the quality of life in patients with lichen sclerosus et atrophicus with the help of adequate diagnostic/therapeutic modalities. |
