| Description | The article is a review of current knowledge in the field of myopia. It points out the high prevalence of myopia worldwide and alerts the further complications related to this condition. We present the latest theories which describe the development, progression and general mechanism of myopia development. Moreover, the animal models of eye growth in myopia are showed. Most importantly, different strategies in myopia controll are explained with its benefits, drawbacks and potential clinical efficiency. |
