Description | The chapter focuses on prevention of specific learning disorders as the prediction begins as early as in preschool age. The whole preschool period is not only preparatory phase for compulsory education; it is also an integral part of the whole education. The core of effective prevention and consequent intervention lies in educating and informing teachers. Attention is paid to children with partial deficits and attention deficits. The chapter offers an overview of programmes. Finally it presents outcomes of a research focusing on development of cognitive, communication, emotional and social competences. |
